Everybody's Cheering
Sun Up Center in
Vero Beach, Florida, held it's first Cheerleading Clinic. The clinic was
organized by Tina Barrett and Leila Henson (coaches) along with their
cheerleading squad from Gifford Middle School. Eight "special" girls were invited to learn basic skills,
cheers, a dance routine and have FUN! The week-long clinic ended with a
performance for family members and friends. As smiles and pride spread, it was
hard not to let the tears flow. Congratulations to all involved. http://www.sunupofir.org/

"Well, it's only ADHD so it's not such a big
deal." " As a doctor that treats learning disabilities as well as ADHD
and Autism Spectrum Disorders, it is common to hear parents make statements
such as this", says Dr. Nelson Mane'. "However, the latest statistics suggest
that 10% of school age children have ADHD, and have higher substance abuse
rates, incarceration rates and pregnancy rates." A new study published, June of
2010 suggests that late adolescent teen girls have more issues with
depression and more dysfunction with the relationships with their mothers and
boyfriends. For more information Dr. Mane may be contacted at
