We at Consumer Care are really excited to introduce a new and very promising product called the BIG HUG. The Big Hug is a deep pressure positioning aid that was ergonomically designed to calm, reorganize and redirect the energy of children and adults living with Autism or who are Cognitively Disabled.
The Big Hug has been found to be effective because it allows the caregiver to simultaneously apply different amounts of soft, wrap- around pressure to six separate areas of the body. This allows for a range of pressure to be applied across the body. The caregiver or user is then able to release the Big Hug's wraps after the desired amount of individualized sensory needs are obtained. The user and/or caregiver are able to release the Velcro style hook and loop straps whether the individual’s hands are outside of the Big Hug or are alongside the body and wrapped inside. A great feature about the wraps is that they are removable. These wraps can be used individually when the individual does not want to be lying down. They can be wrapped around their waist or legs when they are sitting at the table, etc. It is very versatile. The Big Hug also has a horseshoe shaped pillow for additional safe, head control for lying in the supine position.
The Big Hug is portable and folds in half for easy storage. It is also made with comfortable, institutional quality, water resistant, easy to clean material. The Big Hug is available in 5 different sizes and fits users ranging from 29 inches tall to 84 inches tall. The Big Hug works well with other products that we sell, such as the incline wedge.
