Holiday Traditions: Michele Kovack
Michele Kovack
I am a mother of a 16 year old daughter with Cerebral Palsy and a 14 year old son. My daughter is mentally and physically impaired and although her disability poses many challenges we have tried our best to expose her to as much as we can! We have many family traditions and one of them that is near and dear to my heart is visiting downtown Chicago to see the Christmas decorations. We bundle up, visit German Fest, see the large tree in Daley Plaza, go to Macy’s, walk to the LEGO store (for my son of course!), eat downtown, and walk until our feet hurt! This is a tradition that was started when I was a little girl, and I am so glad I have been able to pass it down to my children. Thank you so much for allowing me to share! Sincerely,
