Create, Cook, Talk: Cheese and Chocolate “Fun-due”
In today’s show, we created some yummy cheese and chocolate fondue that we will call “fun-due.”
Fun Facts:
The history of fondue is centuries old! Fondue began to use aged cheeses and bread to feed people who had limited access to fresh food during the winter months. Fondue became the national dish of Switzerland in the 1930s and became an American fad in the ’60s and ’70s. It was the Americans that invented chocolate fondue, according to Luxe Adventure Traveler.com
Cheese Fondue
Ingredients
- 1 cup chicken broth, low-sodium
- 1 8-ounce block Monterey Jack Cheese (shredded)
- 1 tbsp crushed fresh garlic
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 tsp, ground white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 2 ounce of white wine or Sherry (optional)
Chocolate Fondue (recipe shown in video)
Ingredients
- 1 bag (11.5 ounces) milk or semisweet chocolate chips
¾ cup heavy whipping cream
Chocolate Fondue (using Almond Milk and Microwave)
