Miss Megan Rex (now Mrs. Haile)
I need to tell you about a wonderful, incredible, terrific, marvelous and amazing teacher that you have at Aspen. My kids have had many good or even great teachers at Aspen, but, one stands out like no other. Her name is Megan Rex. Megan has gone WAY above and beyond for my son, Noah Rubino. She has helped Noah with any difficulty he has had in her class due to his autism. She has properly and accurately modified the curriculum for him, not too much, not too little, but just right. She has been extremely patient regarding his needs by giving him extra time and help, as needed. Yet, she has been appropriately strict in demanding from him what she knew he could do and what he was capable of doing, without letting him “off the hook”. She knew what he could do and she forced it out of him when others would not. She reworded things, quietly assisted him, allowed adjustments and did all this with a smile on her face and with a warm heart!
She exemplifies what EVERY parent only dreams of for their child. Handling a classroom of 5th graders is never easy, but, Megan does it with grace, cheerfulness and strength. She never has to raise her voice to accomplish this. What a gem she is! What an incredible person and incredible teacher. What a gift she has been to Aspen and to my son.
Megan was always there for me… when I had a questions, problems, or when she needed to share important situations with me. I cannot rave about her enough.
I needed you to know this and keep this in her file. We are blessed to have her return to one of her childhood schools as a teacher who clearly shines!
Fondly,
Ms. Barrie Silberberg
