This recipe requires a lot of little directions to follow as your kiddo has to measure out various ingredients to make the topping for the fish. Work on having them follow various levels of directions. Here are different suggestions, from simple to more complex. (remember the concept of measurements may be hard and require your guidance)
One step directions: ask your kiddo to measure each ingredient one step at a time, using gestures/pointing to help guide them
Simple, 2-step related directions: Ask them to grab each ingredient and place them on the counter (one at a time)
2-step, unrelated: Ask them to grab the fish and then wash their hands after, to prepare to touch the fish.
3-step, related and complex: Ask them to grab the ingredients listed on the recipe sheet, then grab the bowls needed and then grab the fish from the fridge. and so on… 🙂 the more you demand of the task, the more complex it becomes.
