Sharing “I CAN!” Attitudes: Trey
My son, Trey, is 15 and has Down Syndrome. He takes karate and has recently moved into the adult class and is doing well. He’s had some major health issues this year, mainly with his heart, and his cardiologist told us that he must lose weight immediately!! He lost 31 pounds in 8 weeks and continues to lose more. His karate school gives an award every year to one student who has shown great resolve and commitment. The award is called the “Christian Award”, in honor of a student named Christian who tragically passed away years ago.
Trey is the 2016 recipient, and we couldn’t be more proud!!
