The Right School for Your Child with Learning Disabilities
Are you in the process of trying to determine which type of school is best for your child? If so, it is important to research your options carefully and take into account what each school can offer your child and how personnel can best accommodate your child’s specific needs.
Public and private schools both have their advantages and disadvantages. There are fundamental differences between the two of them. That is why it is important to evaluate and select the best individual school that can be the most supportive and enriching for your child.
Public Schools
Public schools receive funding through local, state, and federal tax dollars and follow the rules and regulations set forth by politicians. Public education is free to all students and do not require any interviews or testing for admission. By law, public schools are required to accept all children. Public school districts are required by law to provide all rights to students under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). They must provide testing and disability services for children who qualify and demonstrate that they are doing everything stated in a child’s IEP.
