T.E.A.M. SMART: This Summer with Doug
Think Smart
Thought is the original source of all success. It translates into a plentitude of actions all precipitated by impulses. Your thoughts give you direction on what to eat and how often you eat. The secret of “THINK SMART” lies not without, but rather within, the individual. Being the master of your mind and taking control of your life are essential to achieving your ideal body weight goals and feeling good about yourself. While you may ponder the reasons for how you got yourself into the shape you are in today, it’s important to take action now and know that you have control over you! The power of thought will become evident with consistent, simple and direct applications over time.
Eat Smart
Studies found that two major factors influence weight gain. They are the level of hunger and the level of activity. The more active one is, the less hungry he/she feels. However, those aren’t the only factors involved in weight gain. Eating is one of the greatest past times and pleasure activities that many people do when they’re simply bored in social gatherings where food is abundant, or feeling down in the dumps. The secret of “EAT SMART” stems not from food itself, but rather food consumption. Research suggests that lack of moderation of foods rich in fat and sugars over the years leads to extra weight and may be a major contributor to obesity later in life.
Move Smart
Most health professionals believe that a three-day workout routine a week is more than enough to get into and stay in shape. To sculpt your ideal body is like putting together a plan to build your dream home. You would first want to sketch out a blueprint of your vision which would include the house design, floor plans, foundation, wall designs, electrical, plumbing, and so on. The secret of “MOVE SMART” is to put together a customized plan that works best for you! This includes starting slowly, maintaining consistency, and changing up the routine from time-to-time. The frameworks include building physical strength and endurance, especially if you have taken a lot of time off or haven’t exercised in a long while.
