Back to School Time
School is back in session, Fall is upon us, leaves on trees are changing, a new season is in swing, and I can’t help but draw a certain similarity in all of this to us…the parents and caregivers of those with Special Needs. The seasons come and go every year and with it comes new challenges and new goals. After all, this new season really isn’t new… it is simply an other period of time that we have to witness, affect, and realize change. We all strive to reach the greatest potential for our special loved ones. Here within the magazine, we have initiated our “NO LIMITS” campaign to, not only support Different Ability Awareness for the month of October, but also to show that one never knows how far someone can go until they push the limits. We have chosen 5 people for this campaign and it might just surprise you to learn a little bit more about these remarkable people. In keeping with the theme of school being back in session, we have an excellent article on the “pros and cons” of school based vs. independent psychological based
evaluations.
Just as Fall, hopefully, is cooler than the Summer, so too do I hope that this new Fall Season for you is not as hot and heated as perhaps it has been for you. Keep in mind that in order for us to be the best we can be for them, we have to be the best we can be for us.
All the Best and Happy Reading!
