So many of our children and young adults struggle with the concept of time. When you let your child know that they have 5 more minutes until you need them to get ready to go, do they understand what that really means? Timers can be part of a solution to this struggle. Why? Because they allow your child to SEE just how the minutes are ticking down until they need get ready. Timers provide that visual cue. They also have alarms on them that provide an auditory cue as well. For those who have children with sensory issues, many have alarms that can be turned up or down in volume.
