Do It Yourself Calming Bottle
This DIY calming bottle is perfect for calming your child down, easy to make and can help when “someone” needs to take a time-out. The colors shimmer as the light reflects off of the glitter as it settles down to the bottom. Everyone in the house will want one for their very own.
Supplies you will need:
- Clean bottle with a wide mouth and lid (we used a Voss water bottle)
- 1/4 bottle blue glitter glue
- 1/2 bottle of blue glitter (you choose the color)
- Superglue or other adhesive for permanently fastening the lid
- Water
Step One
Remove the label from the water bottle with goo gone.
Step Two
Add enough hot water to fill bottle a 1/2 inch from the top. {good to know} Hot water will help the glitter to melt better. Room temp or cold will cause it to stay separate.
Step Three
Add about V* bottle of glitter glue, and / bottle of glitter to water. {good to know} Play with the mixture until the glitter settles in about 5 min. Add more glitter glue to make it go slower or more water to make it settle faster.
Step Four
Using superglue or other adhesive, secure cap to bottle.
Step Five
Shake to combine everything and that’s it! Now you or your child will have a calming bottle to help with calming down
