1. MOMables/Meal Plan
OK, I have to share something with you; I am a LOVING Momables.com. Laura Fuentes was my guest on podcast #24 if you haven’t had a chance to listen, PLEASE check it out here!!
The benefit has been HUGE and is making my LIFE EASIER…(Whoot Whoot).
After I spoke with Laura, I decided to check out her site. I ended up purchasing the Classic Dinner annual plan (which is $79).
I did some rough calculations and figured that it would cost less for my family in the long run…compared to what we typically spend in one week with going out to dinner meals, quick pick up meals from various restaurants, or an extra trip to the grocery store.
I’ve been using the plan for about 3 weeks and I am in LOVE!!!! (I mean have you ever heard me rant and go on about anything this much?)
So much so that I have been sharing about it to my family, friends, people at church…anybody that will listen!
Here’s why I am loving it so much…
• It makes getting a healthy meal (real food) on the table so much easier.
• I buy the brands I like and I’m free to change the ingredients according to what my family likes.
• The perks so far have been awesome; the meals have been really good, and slightly different than what I typically cook.
• I’m saving money because I’m not overbuying (I realized with her grocery list, prep, and plans that I have been over buying all these years).
• Plus, we’re not going out as much (saving money there), everyone’s eating healthier food and not asking for seconds because they’re actually FULL (who knew?).
• It makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my family all week long.
• The prep, plan and shopping guides are worth their weight in gold for me.
Plus….drum roll please… last week I started using the Walmart Grocery Free Pick Up Service(a friend told me about the app, but I couldn’t get it to work on my phone. So I ordered it from my computer).
Here’s how I did it:
I take the grocery list for the week’s Menus that I receive from Momables. I then sit down and order my groceries from Walmart using that list and schedule a pickup…Voila, I have a personal shopper!!
The dreaded chore of planning what to make and then remembering what to buy, going to the store, buying it, and bagging it has been removed from my chore list!!!! It actually feels like I’ve gained a new freedom (Whoot Whoot…..yet again……again).
One of the biggest benefits has been that it frees up my brain and mental energy because I don’t have to be thinking about what to buy, or what to make.
Gain a personal shopper! The grocery shopping Walmart Grocery (Free Pickup) is number two on my new favorites list. I just tried it out for the first time last week and yes, there were a few little hiccups with scheduling and they did not have the chicken I wanted, but overall, I’m loving it and will definitely keep using it! Try it for yourself here on your computer or using the app (orange one) to see how easy it is to use.
5. Reminder for all to Use People First Language (Form)
Justin Gallegos (above video) was recently awarded a Nike contract. Have you heard about this?? The video that first went out about him noted that he suffers from Cerebral Palsy ( above has been fixed). A lot of people were upset about the wording in the video, so Justin put out a really great post about it on Instagram.
Here’s a copy of his post.

In reference to Justin’s post, I thought that it might be a good time to take a look and share with others about People First Language. Use People First Language Remember: a disability descriptor is simply a medical diagnosis.
People First Language respectfully puts the person before the disability!
