Being Organized Simplifies Your Life!
Being Organized Simplifies your Life!
Ever feel that you never have enough time? Are you overwhelmed with paperwork and things that need to be done? These are symptoms of not being in control. Let’s face it, if you have a special needs child, you never have enough time. You have to ‘make the time’ to do what is most important each day and even that can be challenging.
Feeling overwhelmed is a symptom of not being in control. Being organized can begin the process of putting YOU in control. No one is born organized. It is a learned skill that anyone can learn. My mother has always been organized, she said it was ”because she was lazy and didn’t want to do things twice”. I have realized over the years, that being organized really helps to simplify your life. Knowing where to find important information and having a place for everything is the key.
To help simplify (and hopefully eliminate) some stress we have designed the following forms to help you begin the process of gaining control. We hope they help.
My Child’s Provider List Contact information: having all the numbers on one or two sheets and knowing where to find it has made my life much easier. I recently had to call my child’s nurse coordinator regarding a therapist. I needed to supply the therapist’s telephone number so she could call. I also had to call the primary doctor’s office to request a prescription for occupational therapy. Having all the numbers in one place saved me a lot of time and effort.
My Child’s Medications information: the following form should help in listing your child’s current medications. This helps you to keep track, as well as, list any side effects. We recommend that you make a copy so you can update as needed to keep current.
My Child’s Emergency Medical Information: the following form should help in listing the most important things you need to know about your child in an emergency.
Tip: tape the medication form to the inside of your medicine cabinet or wherever you keep you child’s medications for convenience and to help keep track of dosage and side effects.
