Screen Addiction
Are your kids obsessed with screens? Are they constantly on Facebook or playing video and mobile games? Makes you wonder how much this digital era is affecting these little minds. Dr. Simon Trepel, licensed child psychiatrist in Winnipeg, says parents need to lead by example, teaching kids boundaries and setting rules in this digital age, weighing the positives and negatives.
Experts using brain scans are finding similarities between drug addiction and video addiction.
Victoria Dunckley put a name to it… Electronic Screen Syndrome… and she recommends a complete screen fast for two to four weeks to reset hormones and other chemicals in the brain (back to factory settings).
